Food Service Coordinators perform various food service preparation duties, such as preparing and portioning meals based on the dietary needs of our members. They assist in serving meals to our members promptly while maintaining a positive attitude. Maintain clean and sanitary conditions of the food service areas, equipment, and facility is also expected. Job Summary Food Service Coordinators perform various food service preparation duties, such as preparing and portioning meals based on the dietary needs of our members. They assist in serving meals to our members promptly while maintaining a positive attitude. Maintain clean and sanitary conditions of the food service areas, equipment, and facility is also expected. Job Responsibilities Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks for members, paying close attention to special diets. Order from the vendor per weekly meal count, OR order needed food for use in meal preparation using guidelines given with the direction of the Center Director. Take food temperatures before serving meals, making sure the thermometer is calibrated. Take temperature reading and record for refrigerator, freezer, and water daily. Document food program daily and monthly required information if CACFP. Ensure compliance with CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program) and any state-specific regulations. Clean kitchen daily– wash all dishes, pots, and pans using a proper dilution of sanitizer. Wipe down all counters, refrigerators, etc. Keep kitchen organized at all times – use downtime early in shift and after lunch to wipe out cabinets (inside and out), clean sink, wipe down shelves, clean freezer, and defrost if necessary. Clean dining area – wipe all tables and vacuum/mop the kitchen/dining room floor daily. Prepare for the next day – remove anything needed from the freezer, put it in the refrigerator, check the attendance schedule from member count. Make sure all ingredients and supplies are on hand or alert the Administrator. Create kitchen/shopping lists as needed. Other duties as needed or assigned. Knowledge of food service sanitation and proper food handling. Ability to use proper judgement to maintain confidential information. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Able to multi-task and manage competing priorities. Prior experience working with seniors and/or adults with special needs preferred. Able to work a flexible schedule. Able to stand for long periods of time. Successful results of background check, motor vehicle report, drug testing, and any other statespecific requirements. Ability to read menus and recipes or ingredients. #INDAD
