JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Helper to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in various kitchen tasks, ensuring a smooth and efficient food preparation process. This role is essential in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization within the kitchen environment, contributing to the overall success of our food service operations.

SKILLS

  • Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential for maintaining a safe kitchen environment.
  • Experience in food preparation or service within a restaurant or food industry setting is required, preferably in a Chinese restaurant
  • Familiarity with Dim Sum is preferred
  • Experience with cooking with a wok is preferred.
  • Required cooking skills include, but not limited to, steaming, pan frying, and deep frying
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members effectively.
  • A willingness to learn new cooking techniques and improve culinary skills over time.

Responsibilities
  • Assist cooks and chefs in meal preparation by preparing ingredients, and assembling dishes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
  • Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all food is stored, handled, and prepared safely.
  • Help with inventory management by restocking supplies as needed and reporting any shortages to the kitchen supervisor.
  • Steam, pan fry, and deep fry food items in accordance to cook times and quality controls
  • Participate in cleaning tasks at the end of shifts or as directed by kitchen management.
  • Experience with cooking with a wok is preferred.
