Bullseye Pub & Eatery in Algonquin, IL is looking for a hands-on Kitchen-Focused Restaurant Manager to join our 14-person team. Our ideal candidate is passionate about food, highly engaged on the ground, and ready to lead both the kitchen and the front-of-house team while helping shape our new menu.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, or Restaurant Manager with strong kitchen skills
  • Hands-on leader willing to jump in wherever needed — from line cooking to guest relations
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen systems, and food safety standards
  • Excellent leadership, organization, and communication skills
  • Creative eye for menu development and cost management
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure

Responsibilities
  • Lead kitchen operations with a hands-on approach, cooking alongside staff when needed
  • Partner with ownership on new menu development, recipe testing, and rollouts
  • Hire, train, schedule, and coach both BOH and FOH staff to ensure smooth operations
  • Oversee food quality, service, and guest experience standards across the restaurant
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships to ensure consistency and control costs
  • Track food and labor costs, implementing systems to maximize efficiency and profitability
  • Maintain kitchen equipment, cleanliness, and compliance with health and safety codes
  • Provide leadership on the floor during busy shifts, acting as the point of contact for staff and ownership
  • Handle performance reviews, conflict resolution, and terminations when necessary
  • Contribute to creating a positive, team-driven culture where staff feel motivated and supported
