A Buckner’s Kitchen Manager is responsible for all BOH functions and BOH staff to ensure that the kitchen runs smoothly. Having basic knowledge of how equipment works and how to fix equipment and fixtures is almost a must. Being mechanically inclined will help success for sure. Kitchen functions include having a part in or leading of food purchasing, cold and dry storage, preparation and maintenance of quality standards, sanitation and cleanliness, training of crew members in methods of cooking, preparation, dishline, portion control, cost control, and cleaning procedures. A Kitchen Manager works closely with the Food Manager/Head Chef/Lead Cooks and kitchen staff to ensure that quality standards are met as well as planning, forecasting, scheduling, menu, waste reduction and product/facility organization standards are met. They organize the tasks on the floor and help supervise the food service operations at all times to ensure the restaurant runs smoothly. They focus on what customers do not see when they dine at restaurants. Based on the seasonal demands, catering orders and groups, a Kitchen Manager will help plan and prepare crew and schedule. They are also expected to maintain the MSDS Log as well and perform facility maintenance and keep up with maintenance log. Forming relationships with vendors and service providers is crucial for a Kitchen Manager. They are expected to monitor all bills and service quality of said vendors and service providers as well as maintain invoice and billing proficiency. They are an important member of a restaurant team to ensure operations run as expected. Salary noted is entry level base with the opportunity for results driven bonus structure as well as PTO, Vacation Pay, and Some basic benefits.
