Collegiate Charter School of Lowell is a tuition-free public charter academy, providing an academically challenging program in a safe, structured environment. CCSL opened its doors in September 2013 to serve students in K-3. The school has expanded each school year and currently serves students in K-12 as of the 2022-23 school year.

DESCRIPTION:

The Kitchen Manager is responsible and accountable for the efficient delivery of food and beverage services to students and staff members by adopting high service and hygeine standards. The Kitchen Manager is actively involved in the day-to-day tasks and duties involved in supervision of the food service staff, including training, selection of staff, and assignment of duties. The Kitchen Manager works closely with the School Director and other school administrators to ensure the food services program is meeting the needs of the students.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience in foods and nutrition
  • Food service management experience preferred
  • School environement experience preferred
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities effectively and efficiently
  • Problem solving abilities
  • Dependability
    Salary: Starting at $60,000
    Hours: 8 hours per day, Monday - Friday
    Calendar: Year-round, 210 days
Responsibilities
  • Develops service and hygiene standards for the food services program
  • Implements efficient delivery of food and beverage services to students
  • Ensures proper storage and display of all cafeteria items
  • Maintains separation of cleaning supplies from food items
  • Ensure suitable menu for students
  • Ensures quality and food temperature requirements are maintained
  • Hires, trains and supervisors kitchen staff
  • Orders food and supplies through appropriate vendor as needed in collaboration with Business Office
  • Reporting to school administration and DESE as required
  • Establish good relationship with students, staff, school community and vendors
