Description Gretchen's House Child Care Centers are now accepting applications for full and part-time Kitchen Managers in Ann Arbor. Weekly work schedule options are 9-3:00 or 9-1:00, Monday through Friday. No weekends! Pay rate: $16.72-$20.10/hour (based on educational background) Benefits available for those working a minimum of 30 hours/week: Health, Dental, Vision and life insurance, medical reimbursement, short-term disability, student loan repayment and 401K with matching, plus a generous amount of paid time off and 13-15 paid holidays per year. Duties Maintain a clean and organized workspace Shops for food service items, and other items as appropriate, within budget guidelines Adheres to posted menu plans; reports menu changes to classrooms and posts for parents Plans ahead and has supplies on hand for a full week menu Relationships Promotes positive relationships with children, parents and co-workers Works as an active team member in supporting families dealing with food allergies Regulations Helps to follow and meet licensing, NAEYC, Health Department and Gretchen’s House regulations and guidelines. Helps to follow and meet licensing and NAEYC guidelines regarding food preparation, storage, service and sanitation. Follows all Health Department requirements and guidelines Adheres to dietician approved menu. Adheres to GH food guidelines. Promotes clean-up and care for the center environment Actively participates in recycling and care for the natural environment Professionalism Follows NAEYC’s ‘Code of Ethical Conduct’ Holds current Serv-Safe certification Verbal and written communication is professional Dress and demeanor are professional Works cooperatively with all center staff to maintain a quality program Understands role in the organization as a business Requirements Ability to follow appropriate food handling practices Personnel File is up to date Appropriate Attendance Ability to relate joyfully and sensitively to children, co-workers and parents Servsafe certified Evidence of emotional maturity and stability Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position Must hold a valid driver's license Must pass comprehensive background check as required by the State of Michigan
