First and foremost: JHC is a small operation with a 300sq ft kitchen. We are looking for someone who loves the brand, knows the food, the idea, and pushing the culture through Hot Chicken.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous kitchen management or lead cook experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety practices and kitchen operations.
  • Reliable, organized, and able to manage time effectively.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Willingness to work hands-on and alongside staff when needed.
  • Passion for great food and pride in delivering quality.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee daily kitchen operations.
  • Order food and supplies and assist with paper goods ordering.
  • Create prep lists, ensure all prep is completed in a timely manner
  • Work with owner closely on
  • Maintain the highest standards of food safety and sanitation, including proper handling, storage, and temperature control (especially chicken preparation).
  • Ensure all stations remain clean, organized, and operating efficiently.
  • Assist in kitchen prep alongside staff and the owner.
  • Open and close the shop as needed.
  • Uphold food quality standards — only serve food you’d be proud to eat.
  • Work closely with the owner on scheduling, team development, and cultivating a positive, accountable kitchen culture.
  • Lead by example and hold the team accountable to high standards.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and create new specials.
