JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Kitchen Manager to oversee our kitchen operations in a fast-paced dining environment. REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in kitchen management or a similar role within the food industry.
  • Strong culinary skills with experience in quick service, casual dining, or fine dining establishments.
  • Familiarity with inventory control systems and budgeting practices.
  • Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on team management and staff training & development.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling.
  • Experience with cash handling procedures and restaurant management software.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with staff, customers, and vendors.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by the business needs.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Manage food preparation and cooking processes, adhering to recipes and portion control guidelines.
  • Oversee inventory control, including ordering supplies and managing stock levels to minimize waste.
  • Train and develop kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food handling procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Implement and maintain health and safety regulations in accordance with local laws.
  • Utilize POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for efficient order processing and cash handling.
  • Conduct interviews and assist in hiring new kitchen staff as needed.
  • Collaborate with management to create menus that align with customer preferences and seasonal availability.
  • Monitor kitchen performance metrics, including food production efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead by example in providing excellent customer service during peak hours.
