OVERVIEW

We’re looking for a dependable Kitchen Porter to keep our café kitchen running smoothly and hygienically. You’ll work closely with our Kitchen Assistant in a compact two-person team, supporting all aspects of kitchen cleanliness, organisation, and basic prep.
This is a crucial behind-the-scenes role that keeps the café moving — ideal for someone who takes pride in doing things properly and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience in a kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential; we welcome those eager to learn.
• A background in hospitality or food preparation will be beneficial for this role.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining cleanliness and efficiency.
• A positive attitude and ability to work well within a team are crucial for success in this position.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required by the business.

• Wash dishes, trays, pots, and kitchen equipment
• Keep all kitchen areas clean and sanitised (floors, surfaces, bins, etc.)
• Help receive and store deliveries safely and correctly
• Restock ingredients and supplies during service
• Assist with basic food prep (e.g. portioning, sorting, simple chopping)
• Empty bins and handle recycling following food safety standards
• Work closely with the Kitchen Assistant to keep the kitchen flowing
