    Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our team in Yeovil, United Kingdom. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen operations.

  • Assist in the general cleaning of the kitchen area, including floors, walls, and work surfaces
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, ensuring they are properly sanitised and stored
  • Support the kitchen team with basic food preparation tasks as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Help with the receipt and storage of deliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation
  • Dispose of waste in accordance with established procedures
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy periods
  • Perform regular deep cleaning tasks as scheduled
  • Report any maintenance issues or equipment faults to the kitchen manager

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience working in a catering environment is preferred
  • Good understanding of health and safety regulations in a kitchen setting
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring thorough cleaning and proper food handling
  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Good customer service skills and a friendly demeanour
  • Flexible approach to work, including willingness to work evenings and weekends
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
  • Basic knowledge of proper food handling and storage procedures
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
