CC Young, a vibrant senior living community and a non-profit leader in senior living and Health Care is seeking an energetic Kitchen Porter to join our team and support our cooking staff!

Job Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Keep all kitchen work surfaces (counters, sinks, stoves, etc.) clean and sanitized.
• Clean floors at the beginning and end of shifts.
• Keep all areas clean to avoid hindering operations.
• Wash cookware, utensils, and cutlery to keep them in rotation.
• Arrange equipment and ingredient deliveries.
• Keep the food and supply storage areas organized.
• Remove food waste.
• Help with routine food prep tasks (such as peeling and chopping vegetables) when needed.
• Receive deliveries, store perishables properly, and rotate stock & inspect deliveries and date times to verify freshness, cleanliness, consistency, and quality throughout case lots.
• Examines articles for defects and sorts the articles according to the extent of the defect.
• Refuse acceptance of damaged, unacceptable, or incorrect items.
• Organize all received goods on various floors, storerooms, & coolers/freezers & ensure an orderly and neatly maintained stock and receiving area.
• Remove empty pallets, cardboard, and trash and place in proper storage areas.
• Adhere to food safety and handling policies and procedures across all food-related areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications:

• 1 – 2 years of similar experience in a restaurant, hotel, or other food service environment.
• Ability to work in a face-paced, high-volume environment.
• Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time or for an entire work shift.
• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Ability to move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps.
• Proven verbal written and mathematic skills as required to complete all required documentation.

Pay starts at $16.50
