Responsibilities

KITCHEN PORTER KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To assist the catering/catering team in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness in accordance with Food Hygiene Legislation
  • Have responsibility for all cleaning duties within the food operation and also manage returns from the food outlets
  • Follow a cleaning schedule and carry out tasks as directed by Senior Chefs
  • Work to an agreed standard of hygiene practice as contained in the Kitchen HACCP manual
  • To put all deliveries away and to ensure that they are transported to the appropriate storage area
  • Operate equipment safely and to ensure it is in good working order
  • Maintain all storage areas with regard to temperature, ventilation and cleanliness.
  • Help ensure that all food items are stored under the correct conditions according to food type

KEY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE:

  • Flexibility with working hours is essential within this role
  • Reliable, hardworking and have the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen alongside a friendly efficient team
  • Good clean personal presentation is paramount
  • Self-motivated and have the ability to prioritise work
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Have the ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment.
