Hot Numbers Coffee Ltd is a vibrant and independent coffee roasting business serving fresh and exciting food at our three busy cafés in Cambridgeshire. Our Roastery, in Shepreth, is also the base for our commercial bakery and pizzeria. We are currently recruiting for the role of Kitchen Porter at Roastery Café in Shepreth near Royston.
Job Title: Kitchen Porter
Reports to: Head Chef and Café Manager

JOB RELATED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Good understanding of food hygiene and health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential as training is provided.
  • Ability to work efficiently on your own and as part of a team.
  • Positive enthusiasm for the job role.
  • Exceptional time management with a reliable work ethic.
  • Good organisational skills.

HOURS

This role will be a 24 hour contract. Our Café operates from 7am-5pm and till 8pm on Friday and Saturday nights for pizza nights. No split shifts.
Please note we apply a 18-21 pay bracket

Responsibilities

POSITION OVERVIEW & JOB PURPOSE

As a Kitchen Porter, you will ensure that a clean workstation is always upheld. You will be responsible for your area and ensure an efficient operation within the KP section. You will work within a small team and communicate effectively between you and other KP members, as well as between front of house and bakery/kitchen team members.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the pot wash area throughout the day to the standard set by the Head KP or Head Chef.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation, ensuring that the workstation is always clean and clear.
  • Complete daily check sheets at the start and end of shifts, following outlined procedures.
  • Maintain stock levels of dishwasher salt, washing up liquid, dishwasher detergent, and dishwasher rinse aid, reporting to FOH management when low for ordering.
  • Follow correct closing down procedures for the maintenance of the dishwasher, including descaling once a week.
