Join Our Team at The Old Wharf Inn – Kitchen Porters/Assistants Wanted
The Old Wharf Inn is a family-owned, canal-side pub in the heart of Stourbridge. Known for our warm hospitality, real ales, craft spirits, and delicious food, we’re proud to serve our local neighbourhood from our scenic spot on the corner of Canal Street — complete with outdoor decking overlooking the water.
Run by landlord Jack, we take pride in being a welcoming and relaxed community pub, and we’re looking for dedicated Kitchen Porters/Assistants to join our hardworking kitchen team.

Position Details:

  • Role: Kitchen Porter / Assistant
  • Type: Full-time
  • Hours: Flexible (evening and weekend work expected)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen areas, including countertops, walls, stoves, ovens, grills, and sinks
  • Wash and sanitize dishes, cutlery, pots, pans, and cooking equipment — either by hand or using a dishwasher
  • Properly dispose of kitchen waste and maintain a clean and organised waste area
  • Clean and maintain cooking equipment such as cookers, mixers, and food prep surfaces
  • Support the kitchen team with basic food preparation and general assistance as needed
