We need a Kitchen Porter (Night Shift) to ensure the expected high standards of health & safety, cleanliness and hygiene is maintained in the kitchen area as a whole.

Responsibilities

Job Title: Kitchen Porter (Night Shift)
Responsible to: Management / Directors
Main Purpose: To ensure the expected high standards of health & safety, cleanliness and hygiene is maintained in the kitchen area as a whole.

Main tasks and duties:

  • To wash all dishes
  • To wash all cutlery, crockery and utensils
  • To remove all rubbish and dispose of to relevant areas
  • To empty, clean and refill dishwasher ready for next shift
  • Clean steamers, racks and ovens each night
  • To clean all kitchen equipment after use
  • To clean pastry room floor and equipment
  • To Brush and clean both corridors
  • To Clean Pots in Pot wash area and clean floor, sink and shelves
  • To clean floor in all kitchen areas including under appliances and benches
  • To receive, record, check and put away in relevant areas the delivery of food and chemicals, reporting any damages or shortfalls to Chef
  • To assist Chefs as and when required
  • To take due care and attention when undertaking any task or procedure
  • To maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance
  • To ensure effective communication to management and peers
  • To carry out periodic checks on rooms ie staff room etc and all equipment
  • To follow all health and safety policies and procedures as devised by management
  • To attend training courses as and when necessary
  • To ensure that due care is taken for the health and safety of yourself, other employees and any other persons on the premises
  • Report and where appropriate take action on any incident, accident, fire, loss or damage
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as requested by management
