Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable person to join and become part of our team at Berrywood Hospital, Northampton. Your duties will include general cleaning of the kitchen and its equipment to the highest standards in accordance with the cleaning schedule and methods and deliver meals and provisions to ward areas ensuring the completion of appropriate paperwork. You will be required to work to, and maintain standards as set by the NHS National Cleaning Specifications. Enthusiasm and dedication to provide a clean safe environment is essential.
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hour per week on a 2 week rota.
Week one: Monday to Wednesday 07:00-15:00 and Thursday & Friday 10:00-18:00 (with 30 minute unpaid break).
Week two: Monday to Wednesday 10:00-18:00 and Saturday & Sunday 07:00-15:00 (with 30 minute unpaid break). This shift pattern is subject to change.
Weekend shifts are paid at the current NHS additional enhanced rate of pay.

Responsibilities

General cleaning of the kitchen and its equipment to the highest standards in accordance with the prescribes cleaning schedule and method
Ensure that all cleaning equipment, materials and chemicals are used as per the manufacturers instructions and are stored securely as per departmental procedures.
Always use the safety equipment and protective clothing provided for use in conjunction with chemicals.

To have an understanding of COSHH regulations and ensure compliance.
Deliver meals and provisions to ward areas ensuring the completion of appropriate paperwork
Ensure the correct use of equipment and at no time subject equipment to abuse or wilful neglect.
Report to the senior grade on duty any defective equipment and to ensure that it is taken out of service and labelled ‘OUT OF ORDER’
