JOB SUMMARY The Kitchen Porter works with the Food & Beverage team to clean and sanitize pots, pans, utensils, the kitchen, and other kitchen equipment, in accordance with time, product and placement standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain high standards of cleanliness and orderliness in all kitchens, dumpster and utility work areas. Heavy-duty cleaning of ovens, grills, sinks, walls, floors, walk-in refrigerators and freezers, and other heavy kitchen equipment Maintain a clean and sanitary environment with knowledge of proper handling, storage, and sanitation Be able to properly use chemicals to sanitize and know the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) information of each. Maintain safety, proper storage of chemicals and chemical concentration logs Operate the dishwashing equipment to ensure that all china, glass, silver are cleaned thoroughly and sanitation of such is maintained Return all clean china, glass, and silver to its proper storage location using care to minimize breakage Empty garbage from the F&B areas into the dumpster Wash Culinary Van and UTV Vehicles once a week and refuel vehicles. Know the location and operation of all fire extinguishing equipment Practice safe work habits at all times to avoid possible injury to self or other employees Follow the proper procedures in the breakdown, cleaning and reassembling of all kitchen equipment, as needed Breakdown and store necessary equipment as needed Report any maintenance needed on equipment Wash, rinse, sanitize, sort, and store all pots, glasses, china, silver, and flatware Clean and organize all designated areas to include sweeping, wash down outside prep station, dishwashing stations and floors/mats Understand/implement basic culinary tasks/procedures such as first-in/first-out, labeling, sanitation Be able to operate and maintain the cleanliness of all kitchen equipment Assist in set-up/break down of work stations Assist with setup and breakdown and clean up of staff meals in breakroom Pack, transport and set-up food equipment for all events and functions Clean up of event area; remove all trash, remove and transport of all dirty dishes, equipment and glassware Assist with food deliveries as needed Provide support of any other culinary-related tasks as assigned EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Highschool diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a related field preferred JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Basic reading, writing and math skills. Valid Driver License Valid TB clearance card PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects Ability to stand during entire shift Bending, stooping, kneeling Ability to withstand temperature variations both hot and cold May be required to work weekends, and/or Holidays May be required to travel to other locations Ability to drive Utility vehicle Ability to drive company vehicles COMPETENCIES Communication: Communicates clearly and concisely, both written and verbal.
