As a Kitchen Porter at Britannic Explorer, a Belmond Train, you are part of a team responsible for providing an exceptional food and beverage service to our guests onboard. In this role, you will be maintaining a sanitary and organised kitchen & pantry environment whilst also ensuring that the Food & Beverage & Culinary team has the necessary tools and equipment to provide an efficient dining experience for our guests. REQUIREMENTS

  • Applicants must have eligibility to work in the UK.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • COSHH knowledge and awareness.
  • You will required to live onboard the train during your shifts, this could be for up to 6 nights at a time.
Responsibilities
  • This is fixed term contract will be September to 5 December 2025. With the potential of returning for a full season in 2026 (February – November 2026).
  • This role will be based onboard the train.
  • Pantry Duties will include the washing of dishes and general organisation and running of the pantry onboard. Daily, weekly and monthly cleaning duties in order to maintain the pantry area in accordance with EHO guidelines.
  • Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems.
  • Assist the kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and cleaning vegetables, as needed.
  • Collaborate with kitchen & onboard staff to ensure the smooth flow of dishes and utensils to support food preparation and service.
  • Participate in the loading and unloading of goods onto and off the train.
  • Adhere to the grooming standards and wear appropriate clean trousers and shoes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols, including those established by the railway authorities.
