Description POSTING DATE: April 2026 POSITION TITLE: Kitchen Prep/Lunch Server REPORTS TO: Director of Operations STATUS: Part-Time; Non-exempt - Not Benefit Eligible START DATE: August 2026 HOURS: 15-20 hours a week (9:30 am-1:00 pm on student contact days). Summers Off. Overview: LCA hires staff who care about the spiritual and academic growth of our students, who maintain high academic standards, and who love Christ and live by biblical principles. LCA has a close-knit staff and faculty who join together for prayer, biblical worldview training, celebrations, and staff development. As a LCA employee, it is essential and foundational to understand, live out, and agree wholeheartedly with Legacy’s Statement of Faith, Social Stances, Core Values, and the Profile of a Legacy Employee. This part-time position supports the mission of the school by assisting the lunch team in preparing and serving a variety of nutritious meals to students in grades PreK-12. Daily responsibilities will vary with an emphasis on salad bar prep, sandwich and salad creation, serving, and cashiering. This individual will be trained on safe kitchen and meal prep practices as well as the safe operation of commercial kitchen equipment. The right candidate will have a heart to serve and a desire to create an engaging lunch experience for all students. Job Requirements & Qualifications: Believe and actively support the school’s Statement of Faith; possessing a strong Christian faith with knowledge of the Bible, a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and a demonstrated character of integrity. The ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Exhibits exceptional communication skills with colleagues, students, parents, and visitors. Basic level of comfort utilizing computer applications and digital apps for lunch verification. Ability to build positive relationships among students and colleagues. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift 30lbs. A combination of education/experience equivalent to High School diploma or GED Previous experience with school-age students &/or kitchen experience preferred
Responsibilities
The position involves assisting the lunch team with the preparation and serving of nutritious meals for students in grades PreK-12. Daily tasks include salad bar preparation, sandwich creation, serving, and operating the cash register.
