Description Pay: $18.00 per hour Job description: Schedule: Thursday 1pm-5pm, Friday 2pm-6pm, Sat and Sun 10am-6pm At Lydia Home Association (LHA), we believe that nourishing our children with healthy and wholesome meals is essential. The residential center provides a temporary home for more than 40 children with severe emotional and behavioral challenges. We are searching for a skilled cook who is creative, highly energetic and has a passion for all things culinary. You will be serving inspired and appealing meals and snacks to children and staff. Responsibilities: Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (marinating, meat fabricating, baking, par cooking, chopping and peeling fresh vegetables etc.). Prepare and serve meals and snacks according to the daily menu. Collaborate with the supervisor to create and post daily menus. Monitor stock and make sure all inventory is stored properly. Maintain sanitation requirements of the kitchen and storage areas. Maintain appropriate records for health, safety, licensing and funding requirements. Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. One to two years relevant, significant, and proven, cooking experience. Current city and state Foodservice Sanitation Certificate. Verbal and written skills to effectively communicate with various age and gender specific groups. Forecasting, planning, organizing and implementing skills. Ability to think and work independently while accepting increased levels of responsibility Research, knowledge, and understanding of the nutritional needs of children and adults.
