Description Kitchen Supervisor Job Code: 502075 Department: Food & Beverage Reports To: Executive Chef FLSA: Non-Exempt The Kitchen Supervisor will be responsible for managing kitchen staff, coordinating meal preparation, maintaining quality control, and overseeing kitchen safety and hygiene standards. This role involves hands-on kitchen work, as well as administrative tasks to ensure the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for food, strong leadership abilities, and an eye for detail. The Kitchen Supervisor ensures smooth kitchen operations and consistently high-quality food for every customer. Key Responsibilities: Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, including meal preparation and presentation. Ensure food quality, portion control, and plating consistency. Assist with kitchen scheduling, ensuring adequate staffing levels for peak hours. Staff Supervision and Training: Train, supervise, and motivate kitchen staff to perform at their best. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback. Address any personnel issues promptly and professionally. Food Preparation and Quality Control: Inspect food storage, preparation, and presentation for quality and safety. Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards. Monitor inventory and assist with ordering and stock rotation. Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure all kitchen staff follow health and safety guidelines. Conduct routine checks to maintain sanitation and cleanliness. Adhere to health department regulations and company policies. Inventory and Cost Control: Maintain and monitor stock levels, conducting weekly inventory checks. Assist in ordering supplies and maintaining inventory records. Help manage food costs and reduce waste through efficient practices. Guest Service: Work with front-of-house staff to handle guest complaints or requests. Strive to meet guest expectations through high food and service standards. Qualifications Experience: 2+ years in a kitchen or food preparation role; previous supervisory experience is a plus. Education: High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training or certification is preferred. Skills: Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation, and safety. Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with kitchen equipment and food safety protocols. Working Conditions Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Physical Requirements: Standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, exposure to hot kitchen equipment. Compensation Competitive hourly wage, commensurate with experience.
