Responsibilities: Oversee daily kitchen operations, including meal planning, food preparation, and service. Ensure all food is prepared, stored, and served in strict compliance with hygiene and safety regulations (FSSAI, local health codes). Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, including cooks, helpers, and assistants, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to protocols. Monitor inventory levels, manage procurement of ingredients, and minimize food waste through effective planning. Develop and implement balanced, age-appropriate meal plans that meet nutritional guidelines for children. Conduct regular checks on equipment maintenance and cleanliness of kitchen areas Collaborate with school administration and nutritionists to address dietary needs, allergies, and special meal requirements. Maintain accurate records of food usage, staff attendance, and safety inspections. Respond promptly to feedback from students, staff, and parents regarding meal quality and service. Requirements 2–5 years of hands-on experience in a school or institutional kitchen environment. Proven track record in food safety, hygiene management, and kitchen supervision. Knowledge of Indian dietary patterns and nutritional requirements for children. Familiarity with FSSAI guidelines and food handling certifications (preferred). Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure during peak meal times and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Proficiency in basic inventory and record-keeping systems. Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings and weekends as required.
