General Assignment Assist with preparing attractive and nutritious meals in an efficient manner while adhering to state and federal guidelines. Performance Accountabilities: 1. Assist with preparing food while demonstrating proper portion control and observing and practicing all safety techniques and guidelines of HACCP & health department.   2. Maintain a sanitary area that includes but is not limited to: cookware, dishes, utensils, service areas, prep areas, worktables, cookers, and equipment. 3. Maintain proper sanitation throughout the kitchen by practicing proper personal hygiene as required by the Department of Health. 4. Keep serving lines and other kitchen areas attractive and sanitized and ensure these areas are cleaned at the end of shift. 5. Demonstrate knowledge of meal components. 6. Identify and escalate issues pertaining to food production to management which may include providing/suggesting a solution for the issue(s). 7. Adhere to all policies and procedures developed by The Nutrition Group. 8. All other duties as assigned by manager.  Duties may also include: 1. Checking and ensuring HACCP logs are being completed 2. Ensuring SERV Safe protocols are followed 3. Ensuring the principles of FIFO (First In First Out) are followed 4. Delegating tasks within the kitchen to ensure efficient and accurate production.  Physical Demands:    * Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling 50 pounds * Ability to kneel, crouch, bend and reach to retrieve and handle inventory and supplies * Ability to produce meals at high volume in a fast-paced environment. * Standing for extended period  Qualifications:                                                   1. Serv Safe Certified 2. Food Service background   3. Kitchen Lead experience a plus 4. Strong leadership & delegation skills 5. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and work under pressure 6. Willingness to learn new tasks (goals & support team) 7. High school diploma or equivalency 8. Strong direction-following skills 9. Excellent communication and organizational skills 10. Excellent problem-solving skills 11.
