Double Puc Cafe is a friendly independent cafe chain in central Bristol.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

We have now have a few locations based in the central Bristol area and we are looking for a kitchen team supervisor that would be able to support across the business. This role will primarily be based at Wake the Tiger Location (Wake The Tiger, 127 Albert Rd, Bristol BS2 0YA).
As a Kitchen Team Supervisor, you will lead the team in preparing and making a range of fresh sandwiches, salads and cookies. You should have a good eye for detail and presentation in terms of making our sandwiches & salads look and taste fantastic and have a natural ability to work well with others and lead them in a challenging but friendly environment.
As the Kitchen Supervisor you should be fully competent and confident in the workings of a kitchen and in supporting the leadership and management of the team alongside the general manager.
You will, with training, have a complete working knowledge of all back of house systems including rocket OS (our hospitality operating system).
You will be diligent with the management of stock and ordering and in ensuring compliance in H&S and food safety practices.
Working alongside the general Manager you will take responsibility of the running of the kitchen and events operations and help to drive performance across the location.

  • In-depth understanding of our menu and all the correct methods of production and service.
  • Ensure that all food that leaves the kitchen is made to the highest of quality standards, in the correct way and in a timely manner.
  • Keen eye for detail to ensure that the team uses the correct methods to prepare our menu in an efficient and safe manner.

Leadership

  • Help create a positive work environment within the kitchen.
  • Excellent communication skills and a can do attitude.
  • Excellent problem solving ability.
  • Assist in leading the team in a clear, consistent and fair way, ensuring the smooth running of the kitchen on a day to day basis.

Management

  • Manage workload effectively so that the kitchen is calm and prepared, even at high volume periods.
  • Delegate effectively so that daily tasks are done to a high standard and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all H&S requirements are met and that Best Practice Methods are adhered to, in order to maintain our 5 star rating.
