Job description
JOB SUMMARY
Freight forwarder manager will provide leadership to the company.
This position will be responsible to ensure smooth operation through effective and efficient management of persons and daily performance.
This role will also have primary accountability to ensure proper day-to-day operation management of freight forwarding including;
Freight Coordinator
1.Receive, review, and process import/export documentation from vendors and customers.
2.Confirm terms/acceptance of shipping with Importer of Record.
3.Communicate with worldwide offices/agents regarding proper documentation for shipments.
4.Work with customs brokers to obtain customs release and other government agency releases as appropriate.
5.Process delivery of cargo, invoicing client/brokerage team, updating tracking system and collection of receivables.
6.Provide customers with pre-alert and daily updates on status of their shipment
and referring them to a higher-level authority when questions are beyond scope of responsibility
7.Advise department Supervisor/Manager of any transaction problems or irregularities.
8.Report any cargo damages and prepare preliminary claim to all parties involved.
9.Negotiate with carriers to obtain optimal freight rates while establishing and maintaining service relationships
10. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and excellent customer service
11.Ensure shipping guidelines are adhered to according to customer requirements and specifications
12.Coordinate shipments and communicate booking information and instructions
13.Determine terms and conditions for freight lanes, while ensuring carrier confirmation and shipment verifications
14.Track accessorial and detention charges and update the internal transportation management system
15.Participate in tracking and tracing of loads
16.Communicate with carriers to monitor freight movement and escalate issues with unresponsive carriers
17.Maintain positive customer relations by updating customer websites with load information
18.Work as a part of the team to ensure every shipment is completed without errors
19.Ensure prompt collection of proof of delivery documentation to support invoicing process.
20.Process Supplier invoices to create pre-alert packages for our Customs Broker
21.Classify products with HS code if missing (depending on knowledge)
22.File CERS within timelines
23.Obtain quotes for courier, air, truck, ocean for inbound & outbound flow
24.Additional duties as required
· New or Minimum 1-2 years of international freight forwarding experience
· Experience in Ocean and Air inbound, outbound in Canada
· Diploma / Degree preferred
· Must be fluent both in English & Korean
· Must possess Permanent Residency & Citizenship & working permit .
