Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years manufacturing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
• Associate Degree or equivalent experience

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work environment is like most manufacturing operations. May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations and shop lighting.

SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

The KPO/ Operational Excellence Technician position focuses primarily on hands-on shop floor Kaizen activities, performing a variety of continuous improvement tasks in support of the Kaizen Promotion Office; aides in creating a safe, efficient, and effective Lean operation. This position is an entry level position.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Interfaces with all functional departments and handles Continuous Improvement requests
• Undertakes independent projects as needed in support of department
• Supports supervisors, team leaders and associates in the application of the lean principles
• Assists in the creation of Work Instructions, Daily Management, 6 Sigma and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) Documents
• Assists in designs and fabricates equipment from Creform Tubing and other materials
• Assists in the completion of Kaizen Newspaper Action Items
• Participates in and supports Kaizen Event
