Description:

DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE FUNDING, KTP ASSOCIATES WHO HAVE ALREADY COMPLETED A KTP ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPLY.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious graduate with the ability and confidence to manage a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project with Vernacare International Ltd.
The University of Manchester and Vernacare seek a KTP associate for a 24-month project aimed at transforming traditional infection prevention plastics from a linear to a circular model.
The position will provide the successful candidate with a unique opportunity to lead a transformative project focused on advancing sustainable practices in healthcare plastics, fostering collaboration between academia and industry, and gaining hands-on experience in applying cutting-edge materials science to real-world challenges. The successful candidate will have the chance to drive innovation, influence industry standards, and contribute to significant environmental impact by developing and implementing circular economy principles within Vernacare’s product lines.
This post is funded through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) award, a UK Government scheme intended to promote sustained and mutually beneficial relationships between universities and industry.
Based within one of Vernacare’s facilities in the North West, the successful candidate will work directly with academics, scientists and business leaders from both the University and Vernacare and will use the facilities and resources of both organisations.
Subject to supervisors’ agreement, the successful candidate may also receive a final bonus payment of up to 10% of annual salary on successful completion of the KTP project and agreed milestones.
As an equal opportunities employer we welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of age, sex, gender (or gender identity), ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and transgender status. All appointments are made on merit.
