ABOUT THE JOB YOU’RE CONSIDERING

As a Kubernetes Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, deployment, and operation of our Kubernetes-based hosting platform. You’ll ensure the platform is secure, scalable, and resilient, enabling multi-tenant services, orchestration of workloads, and lifecycle management across aircraft and ground-based systems.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Deep understanding of Kubernetes platform components, services and lifecycle management
  • 5-6+ years of hands-on experience id required.
  • Proficient with Helm charts and Argo CD for application and platform deployment
  • Experience in tenant provisioning, namespace isolation, resource quotas and high availability scenarios
  • Proficient in Go, Python, Bash scripting, YAML/JSON configuration, and REST API development for cloud-native platform and deployment.
  • Implementation of messaging systems like MQTT for platform integration
  • Experience with CNI plugins for Kubernetes networking and network policy management.
  • Management of file-based data offloading systems using CephFS or S3-compatible stores
Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes K3s clusters across edge or embedded systems
  • Integrate the platform with Linux-based infrastructure (bootstrapped via PXE, OTA, etc.)
  • Implement multi-tenant cluster models and isolate workloads per tenant or service
  • Manage Helm charts, GitOps workflows (e.g., Argo CD)
  • Develop and maintain custom controllers, CRDs, or operators to extend K8s capabilities
  • Automate cluster provisioning, node registration, and upgrade workflows
  • Monitor platform health using Prometheus, Grafana, and Kubernetes Events
  • Enforce and implement network policies, RBAC, secrets management, and container security
  • Optimize Kubernetes on constrained hardware (low-power devices, air-gapped systems)
  • Troubleshoot container runtime, DNS resolution, overlay networking (Calico, Flannel, etc.)
