JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for an L2 Network Engineer with hands-on experience in Checkpoint firewalls, F5 load balancers, Proxy servers, and security tools to join our network and security team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting, configuring, and troubleshooting various network devices and security appliances to ensure a reliable, secure, and efficient network infrastructure. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to grow their skills in network and security technologies.

Work with the cybersecurity and IT teams to identify and resolve vulnerabilities, apply patches, and ensure compliance with security best practices.
Support the configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of Layer 2 networking devices such as switches, routers, and access points. Ensure the network infrastructure operates smoothly and securely.
Configure, monitor, and maintain Checkpoint firewalls to ensure network security. Assist with the deployment and troubleshooting of security policies, NAT, VPNs, and access control lists.
Provide support for F5 load balancers, including the configuration of virtual servers, pools, and SSL offloading. Monitor and troubleshoot load balancing issues to optimize application performance and availability.
Support and maintain proxy servers, ensuring they are properly configured for web filtering, security, and monitoring. Work with security tools like IPS/IDS, antivirus software, and other security devices to maintain the security of the network.
Respond to network incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. Provide L2-level troubleshooting for network and security-related issues, escalating more complex problems to senior engineers when needed.
Use network monitoring tools to track and report on the health of the network, including traffic flow, bandwidth usage, and device status. Assist in network optimization to ensure maximum performance and availability.
Maintain up-to-date network configurations, troubleshooting logs, and procedures for all network devices and security tools. Ensure that documentation is easily accessible and accurate for all team members.

Assist in the implementation of network security policies, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) to safeguard the organization’s network.
