QUALIFICATIONS

  • GCSE Mathematics (Higher Paper) and English Language passes to Grade C (level 4-9)
  • Plus, three other GCSE passes to Grade C (levels 4-9) and to include a Natural Science, Technology or Engineering related subject
  • A minimum of 2 A Levels in Maths and a Stem subject.
  • Alternative Engineering Vocational Level 3 Qualification (90 credit Units, 540 GLH) accepted such as BTEC L3.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate an interest and aptitude for chosen area of work.

This role will have a starting salary of £20,319
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.

As an Apprentice Cybernetics Technician, you will play a pivotal role in Testing and commissioning of control equipment and software for remote handling systems, Maintenance of existing equipment, Supporting with fault finding, resolution and Recording of testing, and commissioning and maintenance performed.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete national academic qualification as defined by the apprenticeship training standard: Automation and controls engineering technician / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education
  • Attend designated training provider, develop and attain a good knowledge of technical skills.
  • Represent the UKAEA Organisation and attend external outreach and careers events.
