Job Title: Lab Analyst I  Reports to: Lab Supervisor or Lab Manager  Job Summary:  The Laboratory Analyst I is an entry-level analyst position responsible for supporting routine laboratory operations under supervision. This role involves preparing reagents and standards, performing basic analyses, maintaining instruments, and documenting results in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs). The Analyst I contributes to the accuracy and efficiency of laboratory workflows while developing foundational technical skills and knowledge.  Duties/Responsibilities:  * Prepare basic standards and reagents following SOPs with minimal oversight.  * Set up and load instruments for routine analyses with guidance.  * Perform basic laboratory tests and procedures under supervision.  * Conduct investigation tests with oversight as part of training and development.  * Complete laboratory documentation accurately and consistently.  * Track sample progress and ensure timely processing and reporting.  * Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments with guidance.  * Support senior analysts and supervisors in daily lab operations.  * Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.  * Participate in training programs to build technical and quality system knowledge.  Pay Rate: $25.48 - $31.73/hour  Required Skills/Abilities:   * Basic understanding of laboratory techniques and equipment.  * Ability to follow written procedures and work instructions.  * Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.  * Good organizational and time management skills.  * Effective communication and teamwork abilities.  * Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.  Education and Experience:  * Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field.  * 0–2 years of laboratory experience    Physical Requirements:   * Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.  * Manual dexterity to operate laboratory instruments and computer systems.  * Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.  * Ability to work in a laboratory environment with exposure to chemicals and environmental samples, using appropriate PPE.  Other Duties: Please note this job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this position.
