Job Description: Laboratory Assistant (Permanent - Part time) • Excellent benefits including salary packaging • Fitzroy location • Permanent, Part Time, (Mon, Tues, Wed, participate in weekend roster) About the Role You will work as part of the Microbiology team to assist in the achievement of the team’s overall goal to produce accurate, high quality and timely reports Process specimens in accordance with laboratory methods to ensure accurate, timely and quality results Loading and maintenance of the instruments, Despatch and storage of serology specimens, Preparation of reagents Autoclaving of waste. Classification for this role is IV9 ($65,754.00 per annum, pro rata) Your Contribution Qualification of VCE including Mathematics and Biological Sciences electives Basic knowledge of Microbiology Ability to work as part of a team Good communication skills Experience with automated equipment (Atellica, Bactec, Vitek) Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain.
