QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred:

• Associates degree
• At least 6 months previous experience in an anatomic or clinical laboratory

SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS:

• Day Shift
• Per Diem

• Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs instruments and lab equipment if possible
• Maintains all necessary QC, QA, maintenance and repair records required by accreditation agencies
• Reconciles patient identifiers between specimens and requisitions prior to accession and communicates, investigates, and resolves any discrepancies
• Verifies orders from requisitions and accessions surgical cases in the LIS
• Segregates and packs laboratory waste 45 percent according to established policies
• Works on special projects as requested by the Supervisor and, or Director
• Assists in the training of new employees and students
• Applies the knowledge and skills necessary to assess data reflective of each patient’s status and provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served: infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric
• Other duties as assigned
