We are seeking a Lab Associate - Microbiology to join Q2 Solutions, IQVIA’s laboratory business at Valencia, CA.

As a Lab Associate - Microbiology you will perform routine specimen analysis and support laboratory operations to generate high-quality data for clinical trials.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Perform routine analysis of specimens and document results in accordance with SOPs and regulatory guidelines
  • Evaluate validity of analytical results using lab computer system algorithms
  • Identify and escalate performance errors or unusual results to senior lab personnel
  • Prepare buffers and solutions for analysis
  • Conduct secondary review of analytical results when qualified
  • Manage post-analysis sample and reagent storage
  • Assist in developing and writing new lab procedures and techniques
  • Maintain lab cleanliness and organization in line with 6S standards

THE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES NEEDED FOR THIS ROLE:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints). Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. Occasional exposure to cold temperatures.
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and terminology
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to manage reporting procedures
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional teams
