Description Job Type: Full-time – Non-Exempt Position: Lab Coordinator Reports to: Team Lead or Senior Team Lead Location: Norcross, GA (On-site) Position Summary The GMLx BioSkills Lab Technician is responsible for the end-to-end scheduling, coordination, hosting, and operation of the GMLx BioSkills laboratory environment. This role manages daily lab operations while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards. The technician serves as a primary customer-facing resource, responsible for preparing quotes, coordinating services, and supporting customers on a day-to-day basis. This position also oversees the receipt, purchasing, setup, and maintenance of all materials, equipment, and tissue required to successfully host BioSkills lab events. Key Responsibilities Lab Scheduling, Coordination & Hosting Schedule, coordinate, and host BioSkills lab events including cadaver labs, sawbone demonstrations, internal training, and educational sessions. Serve as the primary point of contact for lab requests, ensuring appropriate approvals, documentation, and alignment with operational capacity. Coordinate with sales, marketing, education, operations, and logistics teams to ensure labs are properly supported and prepared. Prepare the BioSkills environment prior to each event and provide on-site support to visiting surgeons, clinicians, sales representatives, and internal teams. Oversee instrument, implant, and equipment staging, use, and post-event reconciliation. Customer Quoting & Communication Prepare and issue quotes for BioSkills lab services, including lab usage, shipping, PPE, consumables, and applicable service fees. Communicate directly with customers to confirm event details, timelines, pricing assumptions, and service expectations. Respond to customer inquiries related to scheduling, logistics, and service support. Support post-event follow-up related to invoicing, adjustments, and customer questions. Partner with internal teams to ensure quoted services align with approved pricing structures and operational capabilities. Lab Operations, Receiving & Purchasing Perform physical tasks required to support lab operations, including lifting, moving, and staging equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds. Receive, verify, and properly handle all goods and biological tissue required for lab events in accordance with safety, quality, and compliance standards. Coordinate intake, storage, tracking, and reconciliation of received materials to ensure accuracy and traceability. Purchase and procure items necessary to support lab operations and events, including PPE, disposables, supplies, and facility needs, in alignment with approved processes and budgets. Ensure all received and purchased items are documented, stored correctly, and available to support scheduled lab activities. Facility, Quality & Compliance Management Maintain the BioSkills laboratory environment to meet internal quality standards and applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, FDA, and internal quality systems). Enforce controlled access to the BioSkills environment and prevent unauthorized use of instruments, devices, or materials. Ensure proper cleaning, organization, storage, and maintenance of lab equipment and workspaces. Maintain accurate documentation related to lab usage, inventory movement, approvals, and compliance. Support audits, inspections, and internal reviews related to the BioSkills facility. Continuous Improvement & Support Identify opportunities to improve lab processes, efficiency, and customer experience. Assist with training internal teams on BioSkills lab policies, procedures, and expectations. Support cross-functional initiatives related to education, training, and operational excellence. Requirements Required: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, medical, technical, or related field, or equivalent experience. Experience working in a laboratory, healthcare, medical device, or regulated environment. Strong organizational, scheduling, and customer communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable working in a clinical or laboratory setting and handling biological materials in compliance with safety standards. Preferred: Experience with BioSkills labs, cadaver labs, or surgical education environments. Familiarity with medical devices, surgical instruments, and implant systems. Experience preparing quotes, supporting customers, or working in a service-based operational role. Knowledge of OSHA, FDA, and tissue handling regulations. Physical & Environmental Requirements Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, bend, and work hands-on in a laboratory environment for extended periods. Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to support scheduled lab events.
