As Laboratory Coordinator, you’ll be at the heart of our R&D activities, driving safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement across our 10 R&D teams.
Are you ready to coordinate laboratory operations with global impact?
As our new Laboratory Coordinator at Hempel, you will provide essential administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth functioning of our laboratory facilities. You’ll work closely with the R&D management team, Campus Services, and cross-functional colleagues to uphold safety standards, optimize workflows, and support the implementation of new equipment and procedures, lab tours, and events
This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate across departments and contribute to the success of our Double Impact strategy by enabling high-quality, compliant, and efficient laboratory operations.

What will your main responsibilities will include?

  • Ensuring safe and efficient daily operations of the laboratory
  • Supporting HSE-related activities including 5S/6S implementation and chemical inventory management
  • Coordinating maintenance and repair activities in collaboration with Campus Services
  • Organizing safety training programs and maintaining documentation
  • Facilitating lab tours, open houses, and internal events
  • Supporting acquisition and implementation of new equipment
  • Promoting knowledge sharing and compliance with GLP and internal procedures

  • Clear understanding and communication of R&D procedures
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and reflection in improvement initiatives
  • Effective documentation and implementation of HSE-related processes

What do we look for in you?

  • You bring a solid foundation in laboratory operations, either through vocational training or hands-on experience.
  • You’re organized, proactive, and passionate about safety, quality, and process improvement.
  • You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy supporting others.

What kind of qualifications should you have?

  • Vocational training or demonstrated experience in any of these fields: laboratory operations, process understanding, GLP, chemical management, administration, quality assurance or Health and safety
  • Solid understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) practices, is an advantage
  • Proficiency in Danish and English (spoken and written)
  • Solid IT skills, especially in Microsoft Office and digital tools
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills
  • A reflective mindset and genuine enthusiasm for teamwork
