The team you will be a part of The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation. This role in summary As a Lab Engineer, the individual is expected to work in the Refrigeration Lab. He should take care of day-to-day activities and perform hands-on testing. He should cooperate with the Lab supervisor and Manager in moving the lab and team to a new level of performance comparable to other reference labs located in other countries Your responsibilities will include Good technical awareness and clarity about basic concepts. Good communication Plan daily activities & ensure execution of work. Should handle Equipments, calibrations as per schedule. Preparation of Test Reports. Discussion with the project team and planning the testing activities. Should handle Breakdown and Preventive maintenance of lab equipment. Hands-on experience in testing Refrigerators is preferable. Maintaining the documentation as per ISO 17025:2017 Should support Lab Supervisor for Lab Improvements. Minimum requirements Education: B.Tech - Mechanical/Electrical Experience: 2-5 years of experience Preferred skills and experiences Technical: Core Responsibilities and Testing Execution Execute tests according to established laboratory procedures and methodologies with minimal supervision. Monitor ongoing tests to ensure all requirements are met. Setup and build products and test fixtures. Support Associates in test execution to meet project timelines. Plan the schedule for ILC (Internal Lab Capability), MSE (Material Science Engineering) testing, and Preventive Maintenance in the monthly calendar, coordinating with internal stakeholders (customers). Data Management, Analysis, and Reporting Record, prepare, and evaluate test data and results to generate comprehensive lab reports. Monitor and analyze test data before reporting results to customers. Communicate with customers for any necessary clarifications regarding test results. Equipment and Lab Maintenance Monitor and maintain test equipment and test setup conditions as required. Check monthly/weekly plans and execute maintenance of lab equipment and consumables. Carry out intermediate checks on critical equipment to prevent functional errors. Monitor inside and outside environmental conditions of the respective labs per standard/NABL requirements and escalate issues to seniors for corrective action. Identify risk areas in validation, lab equipment, and supporting systems, and take necessary actions. Continuous Improvement and Problem Solving Possess a continuous improvement mindset. Identify problems, articulate the root cause, and propose solutions. Collaborate with the Lab Supervisor and Lab Team to generate ideas for lean efficiency. Work with CI Engineers to move from idea generation to implementation for 5S/Safety and lab efficiency. Apply 5S principles and drive continuous improvement in 5S/Safety within the labs. Documentation and Knowledge Maintain documentation as per NABL requirements (e.g., Internal Audit, MRM, Measurement Uncertainty). Prepare test procedures, work instructions, and develop understanding of new standards. Possess good knowledge of various testing standards (e.g., IS1476, IS15750, IS17550). Have knowledge of tested products and Whirlpool processes. Skills and Training Possess analytical skills for effective problem-solving. Have knowledge of troubleshooting critical equipment in case of breakdown. Train technicians to perform tests according to testing standards.
