This position has no supervisory responsibilities

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of lab machinery and correlation to production results
• Metric/goal driven – methodical in actions and detail oriented
• Experience supervising/mentoring employees
• Employee must be able to communicate with the supervisor.
• Previous experience in maintenance experience required.
• Must be able to read blueprints, manuals etc.
• Must be able to follow instructions.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE:

BS degree in Textile Technology or Engineering is desired.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Employee must be able to:
a. Bend, Reach, Push, Pull, Stoop.
b. Stand for long periods of time
c. Walk long distances every day
d. Lift up to 25 to 50 pounds
e. Distinguish the level of white color ( white, middle yellow, yellow )..

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

a. Always wear hearing protection (where applicable).
b. Always wear safety glove when using utility knife.
c. Always wear dust mask (where applicable)
d. Always wear shoes that cover the entire foot, no open toes.
e. Always keep hair tied back.
f. Always observe good housekeeping by keeping cotton fibers or any foreign materials, debris off of the floor.

ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to tolerate indoor work, exposure to cotton dust and noise levels while working

SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE

In- charge of the overall Textile Laboratory operation on a day to day basis with great emphasis on quality, productivity, formula accuracy and consistency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Research and develop laboratory operation procedures to improve NEPS and making sure that it is meeting overall product quality standards.
• Work closely with other Textile department managers & Technicians to ensure good communication and cooperation.
• Ensure all laboratory resources are utilized efficiently and correctly.
• Train and inform Laboratory Personnel.
• Ensure the proper clean up and maintenance of the lab.
• Follows written and verbal instructions and performs other tasks as directed by supervision.
• Always use proper tools, equipment & PPE for the task at hand.
• Report any production or quality issues to management immediately.
• Report any unsafe work practices or conditions to management immediately.
• Perform all other job duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.
