Description This position includes the following duties: Posting lab charges into the Epic electronic medical record for outpatient lab tests Other duties assigned by the Senior Director of Business Services Requirements Job Requirements: CPT and ICD-10 coding certification preferred Education and background should include previous experience in data entry preferably in a private physician practice setting Detail-oriented work preference with the ability to prioritize tasks and a willingness to work in any area of assigned responsibility Job Responsibilities: Ensure that charges are posted accurately within a timely manner Obtain reports from daily email of resulted lab tests Utilize documents and CPT and ICD-10 coding books/materials to review and ascertain appropriate coding of lab tests to maintain compliance with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and commercial payer compliance Submit charges for claims submission Communicate verbally or utilizing email with physicians and their clinical teams as necessary for clarification of appropriate coding Scan posted reports daily Perform other work related duties as required Knowledge: Knowledge of insurance industry, billing and practice financial policies Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and Modifier coding Knowledge of HIPAA compliance Knowledge of medical terminology Knowledge of current/updated guidelines provided by CMS Skills: Computer literacy Data entry Communication skills including professionalism, tactfulness, diplomacy, sensitivity, clarity and accuracy Positive working relationships with co-workers Abilities: Understand and interpret policies and regulations Examine documents for accuracy and completeness Communicate effectively with others Work efficiently and independently Follow policies and procedures as directed
Responsibilities
