About the Role Perform laboratory tech responsibilities for the Vesper Plant by monitoring sample delivery, correct logging and labeling, compositing, and retaining samples. Ensure that laboratory procedures, methods, and practices are carried out as defined in the Quality System at Kerry, Vesper, WI. Participates in or leads various Quality programs including but not limited to GMP inspections, calibrations, new product introductions, equipment performance and maintenance, sanitation practices, allergen, Food Safety and Quality programs and SAP, others as needed. Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure the highest quality service. Key Responsibilities Understand and comply with all HACCP, allergen, environmental, regulatory and customer demands and requirements. Keep detailed and accurate quality records. Conduct employee training, education and development relating to quality. Work in cooperation with production, management, and the other laboratory technicians to help them monitor all production. Create and update lab procedures and programs. Order all laboratory equipment and supplies. Create daily report of quality issues and concerns and communicate them to management. Act as interface to research and development, contract plants and other Kerry plants on quality testing and concerns. Evaluate testing methods to ensure accuracy. Maintain laboratory equipment calibrations and standardizations. Support preshipment program to ensure customer satisfaction. Supports and advocates employee policies and expectations, quality, customer satisfaction, GMP, sanitation, and production requirements. Responsible to adhere to quality system requirements. Keeps the immediate supervisor informed of relevant activities on shift and takes or recommends corrective action when required. Responsible for making sure HACCP/PC’s related policies are complete and reviewed, including, but not limited to metal checks, filter checks, raw material release, allergen declaration, knife control, sanitation PC, screen checks, weight control, and packaging verification. Perform environmental, sensory, analytical testing (pH, Titration, moisture, fat, etc..) and / or instrumental evaluation of raw material, in process, or finished products following SOP and specification. Any additional duties as directed by the Supervisor/Manager. Qualifications and Skills Minimum 1-2 years' experience as a laboratory technician or internship food processing company as part of a Diploma program. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Ability to obtain PCQI. Experience working in a testing laboratory, food science, or flavor laboratory environment, primarily in laboratory and pilot scale settings. The pay range for this position is $26.64 - $27.64 per hour. Kerry typically does not hire an individual at the top or near the top of the range, as we are a pay-for-performance company, and this range is set to continue to reward performance annually while in role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate within the above range may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
