Department: Innovation/Mkg. Reports to: VP of Innovation   Job Function: Develops new formulations based on customer requirements utilizing pilot plant equipment. Performs color matching as required. Assists in evaluating new bases and raw materials.       Essential Duties and Responsibilities:   1. Process Project Profiles (PPN) for customer sample requests.in Formulator, transfer requests from Good Face Project as needed. 2. Pre-stage work by obtaining supplies and raw materials to complete PPN’s 3. Mill, press and color match samples, conduct 7-day testing for UV, sunlight, and ambient 4. Advise R&D of any formulation issues 5. Work with R&D on creation of new and existing soap bases, assist in the evaluation of new raw materials 6. Establish clear communication with PMs on sample questions/concerns 7. Manage and dispose of obsolete materials 8. Manage 3-D printing of soap pressings for customer evaluation 9. Conduct lab equipment maintenance according to schedule 10. Practice good laboratory and equipment handling techniques in all operations. 11. Comply with the Chemical Hygiene Plan and Environmental policies when handling and disposing of chemicals 12. Set up dies on presses and break down and change panels on dies. 13. Training on and maintenance of data in existing and new systems, whether physical or technology based. 14. Must adhere to company and lab policies. 15. Additional duties, projects and tasks as assigned.     Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   1. Mechanical aptitude 2. Capable of working with minimum supervision 3. Able to adapt to constant change 4. Strong communication skills. 5. Ability to work with various internal departments 6. Basic computer and math skills. 7. Color matching ability and or basic batch making experience.     Working Conditions and Physical Demands:   1. Must be able to lift and move up to 50lbs – (bags, buckets, dies, etc). 2. Must be capable of moving drums of materials that could weigh up to 550 lbs. 3. Must be capable of standing for an entire shift.
Responsibilities
