I’m Verena and since October 2023 I’m CTO at VoltStorage GmbH, a Munich-based start-up with more than 70 employees. In 2016, Jakob, Michael and Felix founded VoltStorage. Our vision is to make renewable energy available 24/7 to enable a green, sustainable and fair future. As an expert for stationary flow batteries, we want to cover all application areas of stationary battery storage systems with our multi-technological approach and thus contribute significantly to the energy transition.
Job Intro
To keep our big project moving forward, I am currently looking for a
Lab Technician Battery Development (m/f/d).

Your tasks

  • Conducting various tests to characterize and evaluate new battery materials (e.g. routine battery cell assembly and electrolyte preparation, chemical compatibility, electrochemical performance, etc.)
  • Calibrating, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment, including electrochemical test stations
  • Cooperation with R&D colleagues in the implementation of tests and procedures
  • Compliance with good laboratory practice, both in terms of documentation and occupational safety
  • Assist in the preparation of technical documentation and reports for internal use and regulatory compliance
  • Manage inventories of laboratory equipment, chemicals and consumables

Requirements

  • Completed training as a laboratory assistant (e.g. chemistry/physics, CTA) or a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, physics plus 2 years of professional experience in the laboratory (preferably in a research and development environment)
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following electrochemical and analytical techniques (cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy, titrations, UV/VIS spectroscopy, etc.)
  • Experience with lab-related software and Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Very good written and spoken English knowledge
  • Positive “can do” attitude
  • Practical experience with batteries and/or fuel cells is an advantage
