Description

COSL Canada Limited is looking for a Cement Lab Technician who is responsible for lab routine work, including lab equipment and materials inventory management, technical tests, lab analysis, and developing lab management procedures with the guidance from cement engineer.

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

  • Work as a laboratory technician, either on an alternating 12-hour shift as a member of the shift team or in an 8-hour day office during business hours.
  • Work effectively in a team environment and have strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Interact with mentors (site manager, sponsor, and experienced senior leaders in operations) and discuss their progress with them regularly.
  • Communicate with the Lab Research Team of COSL HQ.

  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and communicate with different teams and field staffs.
  • Interested in production and technology related career
  • Ability to be a team player with involvement and integrity.
  • Patience and strong focus on attention to detail to meet quality standards.
    Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
    Contract length: 12 months
    Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Familiar with and has an in-depth understanding of all lab equipment
  • All routine analysis for all operating transforms plus troubleshooting and resolving problems related to the lab equipment or procedures with guidance from the cement engineer.
  • Performing special studies and analyses above and beyond that required for the daily operation
  • Running standards, ordering chemicals and operating equipment for the lab
  • Obtaining knowledge of the suppliers of the equipment
  • With the guidance, writing procedures, refining and developing procedures as required for technical tests or equipment calibration
  • Ensuring quality of lab analysis (equipment and analyst)
  • Maintenance and calibration of lab equipment
  • Helping the development of materials management inventory controls
