JOB DESCRIPTION:

Texas Frac, situated in northern Texas, specializes in producing sand for the foundry, glass, construction, and frac sand markets. With a commitment to quality and innovation, Texas Frac is a key contributor to the industries it serves.
The Dry Plant Operator/Lab Technician will be cross-trained in and responsible for operating the dry plant, as well as perform testing of gradations of finished sand. Basic mechanical skills are required for assisting the maintenance department with overall plant maintenance and repair.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous lab or plant operator experience is preferred.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders multiple times daily.
  • Capable of lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • Basic mechanical skills and knowledge of mining safety/environmental regulations.
  • Ability to pass toxicity tests and obtain medical clearance for respiratory protection.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Proficient in standard computer applications (word processing, spreadsheets).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Must engage in strenuous physical activities such as standing, squatting, kneeling, and making visual inspections.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment as necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and manage dry plant startup and shutdown procedures.
  • Assist the maintenance team in maintaining the dry plant.
  • Calibrate, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment per procedures and manufacturer requirements.
  • Obtain samples and conduct sieve and turbidity tests for washed or finished sand grades.
  • Maintain records and samples in accordance with company and API standards.
  • Monitor and report out-of-spec processes at the wash and dry plants, assisting in corrective actions.
  • Perform tests and analyze results from defective units to identify failure causes under the direction of the Plant Manager.
