Description
Laboratory personnel will be responsible for performing all specified testing and solution analysis as well as any additional analysis. Results of all tests and analysis will be recorded, interpreted, categorized, compared, and reported accordingly. Laboratory personnel will also be required to perform quality control, calibration, and maintenance. Responsible for ensuring the waste received, processed, and transported to and from the site complies with the applicable provincial and federal regulations and legislation. #Day Shift #Evening Shift Job Duties:  Perform incoming, internal, and outgoing material testing.  Waste characterization.  Water treatment testing to determine treatment recipe.  Perform quality control and quality assurance.  ICP, GC, GCMS interpretation of analytical results.  Maintain and provide records for all tests performed in the laboratory.  Maintain all laboratory equipment in good working order.  Troubleshooting equipment, instrument, and treatment issues.  Carry out special assignments as directed by the laboratory manager.  Serve as a resource for all plant, transportation, and office employees.  Assist in the investigation and resolution of any problems that may arise.  Promote a constructive working environment through the exchange of information and ideas. Requirements:  Completion of University or College Degree/Diploma Course in a Science related field.  Minimum of 3+ years of experience with maintaining, repairing, and utilizing ICP, GC, and GCMS.  Strong communication and interpersonal skills.  Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.  Must be motivated, able to multi-task, and work effectively alone and in a team is a must.  Required to work shifts as scheduled.  Occasionally required to work extended hours including occasional weekends.  Problem solving and troubleshooting skills.  A strong focus on health and safety.  Willing to work overtime, alternate shifts and weekends.  Knowledge of industry an asset.  Preferred: Experience in the Hazardous Waste Industry is an asset.
