The company also excels in many other types of reinforced plastics including interior sandwich panels for creating structures such as aircraft galleys and bulkheads, honeycomb core and related products. The Gill Corporation is seeking a Lab Technician I to assist the Lab Scientist/Engineer in performing functions within the laboratory. Under close supervision and based on predetermined procedures, performs assigned tasks; assists in experiment setups and executions; operates various machines and testing equipment in the evaluation of a variety of products; records experimental data; makes calculations and prepares brief reports covering the work. Reporting to the R&D Manager, they will perform but not be limited to the following responsibilities. Responsibilities: Assist other laboratory personnel with assigned chemical, mechanical, and physical laboratory experiments and tests, mostly standard in nature, to obtain data pertinent to the solution of specific problems or to evaluate compositions. Record data from experiments performed and prepare necessary reports, charts, and graphs as required. Operate laboratory equipment in performing assigned experiments. Observe effects and variations in assigned experiments; accurately record observations and communicate observations to experienced laboratory personnel to provide guidance on modifications to experimental condition. Use safe practices and good housekeeping in performance of job duties. Understand the hazards associated with assigned work activity and abide by established procedures in the handling and use of materials. Other essential duties may be assigned. AA or bachelor's degree in science/engineering discipline preferred. Moderate knowledge of laboratory equipment, products being tested, product and customer standards. No prior experience required but aptitude for science and math is needed.
