WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for a motivated Lab Technician with an HBO or BSc degree in biomedical sciences or a related field. You thrive in a dynamic scale-up environment and are driven by fundamental biological questions. You bring a structured, detail-oriented approach to your work, take initiative in organizing tasks, and value well-documented, reproducible experiments. You have a solid foundation in molecular and cellular biology, with hands-on experience in techniques such as 2D and 3D cell culture systems.
You’re comfortable managing your own experiments, maintaining an organized lab environment, and contributing to method optimization and protocol development. Strong documentation, clear communication, and a collaborative mindset are essential. You enjoy working in a team, are open to learning new skills, and take pride in working carefully and efficiently.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Completed HBO or Bachelor degree in biomedical sciences, life science or related fields;

  • 2+ years of proven experience in a lab environment;

  • Demonstrable hands on experience with growing and maintaining high quality cell cultures;
  • Comfortable planning and executing molecular and cellular assays;
  • Affinity for scientific instrumentation and the development thereof;
  • Proficient in English (written and verbal);
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently based on clear instructions;
  • Ability to switch between routine experiments/tasks and collaborate on more explorative experiments;
  • Willingness to expand knowledge beyond cell cultures to other (bio)materials or platforms (eg. Organ-on-chip);
  • Netherlands home based.EXTRA PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Familiarity with engineered muscle and/or heart tissue, iPSCs, or contractility assays is a plus;
  • Experience in a start-up and/or scale-up company.
Responsibilities
  • Provide general support to the laboratory through execution of operational tasks;
  • Maintain detailed and accurate lab records of experimental conditions and cell lines;
  • Prepare samples, cells, and reagents for colleagues’ experiments;
  • Perform routine analyses on cell-based systems;
  • Responsible for lab and inventory management.
