JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory techniques and a passion for research within a laboratory setting. This role is essential in supporting various laboratory functions, ensuring quality control, and contributing to ongoing research projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· 2 year technical degree or equivalent work experience
· Ability to interact with customers, vendors, and internal functions
· Proficient at reading drawings and schematics
· Good verbal and written communication skills
· Valid Driver’s License
· Must be successful working as a team player
· Work independently with proper guidelines, while maintaining flexibility including working hours due to changing work priorities
· Willingness to learn production of prototypes specific to customer products

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Ability to work at computer terminal for significant periods of time
· Good hand-eye coordination
· Ability to regularly lift 20-35 pounds unassisted
· Ability to stand for extended periods of time (4-6 hours) working with prototype parts (testing, design, development, building, inspecting, shipping)

Pay: $68,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Position requires the highest standards of professionalism when interacting with internal personnel, as well as customers and suppliers. Must have good communication skills, written and verbal. Incumbent must be able to interact and communicate with all organizational levels. Good moral code of conduct and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    Essential Job Functions:
    · Test components and assemblies to regulatory and customer-specific performance specifications
    · Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues on test equipment and perform minor repairs
    · Develop a preventative maintenance system for laboratory equipment
    · Provide feedback to engineering and CAD on manufacturability of prototypes
    · Create and complete documentation for engineering activities, including but not limited to prototype build records, validation and warranty analysis test reports
    · Participation in APQP and launch activities as required
    · Self-directed to meet program timing and management of outside resources
    · Must understand and adhere to all health, safety and environmental policies and integrate health safety and environmental considerations into daily work activities.
    · Support Continuous Improvement program to increase productivity through implementation of one-piece-flow production and Kaizen techniques
    · Ability to function effectively within a fast-paced automotive industry lean entrepreneurial team
    · Flexible hours are required with periodic over-night travel
    · Assist with other responsibilities and duties as required, fostering a dynamic atmosphere
