Job Description Under supervision of a Lab Technologist and/or management performs clinical laboratory procedures and examinations pursuant to established, approved protocols which require limited independent judgment and review. Assists in training students, new employees and other Hospital personnel. Job Responsibility * Under supervision of a Lab Technologist and/or management performs a variety of reviewed laboratory procedures relevant to the particular work going on in the laboratory. * Prepares and tests specimens for examination and reports preliminary results to the technologist for sign-off. * Keeps accurate records. * Operates and maintains laboratory equipment. * Ensures and maintains quality control and assurance activities * Maintains the laboratory area in a clean and orderly manner. Performs related duties, as required. *ADA Essential Functions Job Qualification Associates Degree in Medical Technology, Basic Science or related field, required.Licensed by New York State Education Department as a Clinical Laboratory Technician, required.Previous experience in a medical laboratory, preferred. *Additional Salary Detail The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
