Description
Objective of the function Undertake laboratory tasks within defined procedures and as directed by the Laboratory Manager Responsibilities/Duties Perform analytical and microbiological testing for customers, such as sterility test, bioburden tests, method validation, environmental monitoring in clean room areas and: Determine CFU-counts in general and identification of bacteria Prepare and sterilize laboratory media and instruments Daily readings of specified equipment Ensure that the laboratory is tidy and cleaning is performed according to procedures or requested Ad hoc laboratory tasks Internal calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment Co-ordinate purchasing of Laboratory consumables Incoming inspection of laboratory related goods, incl. GP on media Identify report and eliminate potential Laboratory hazards in conjunction with Laboratory Manager / Safety organization Contributing to the operation and improvement of the Sterigenics Quality Management System Make proposals for improvement of existing procedures and also in connection with corrective actions Together with the Laboratory Manager ensure all Laboratory procedures are in place and up-dated Assist the Laboratory Team Manager and QA Manager with internal and external audits Perform testing with respect to agreed time schedules Write CSS Write certificates Dosimeter readings Report to Laboratory Manager according to agreed deliveries and time schedules Authority: The Lab technician is given the authority to deal directly with the customers in specific microbiological analysis issue. To purchase any need for the daily routine work; when it comes to new equipment and lager investments, the purchase will be done together with the Laboratory Team Manager. Reports any deficiencies to Laboratory Manager Requirements: Knowledge/Education and Training: Laboratory work for at least 1 years or relevant experience from microbiological laboratory. Used to work with quality systems Good record keeping Experience: Experience in auditing an advance Ability to perform routine technical tasks to a consistently high standard Ability to plan and work to deadlines Experience in English (reading, speaking, writing) Skills: Good organizational and communication skills Contacts: Internal: Laboratory Manager QA Manager/QC Coordinator Technicians Technical Supervisor Business Support Manager Production External: Customers and other visitors Suppliers
Responsibilities
The Lab Technician will perform analytical and microbiological testing, prepare and sterilize laboratory media, and ensure the laboratory is maintained according to procedures. They will also assist in internal and external audits and contribute to the improvement of laboratory procedures.
